2022 Annual General Meeting - Grantee Reports
2021 recipients of grants from Twice But Nice attended the annual meeting and providing reports on the funds their non profit groups received.
FORT SASKATCHEWAN MUSIC FESTIVAL
KIDSPORT
Thank you very much for your donation of $1500.00 to KidSport in 2021.
We sponsored 70 children in 2021 for $22, 344.26. Although the number of applications was lower than we were anticipating, 2022 applications are coming in rapidly and we are expecting this to be a very high volume year as families are becoming more comfortable with a return to activities. In just comparing January and February, our 2022 applications have increased over 2021 from 4 to 20.
In spite of limitations on in person fund raising activities, we were able to resort to online raffles as most other organizations did as well. Our most successful raffle was the Playhouse build and raffle. I am sure many of you saw the Playhouses sitting in the Freson Bros. parking lot in June. The playhouse was built through donations of materials and labour from numerous Fort Saskatchewan sponsors and netted us almost $12,000.00 in revenue.
There were numerous other companies that we successfully received grants from in 2021 as well as donations from several organizations like Golf Leagues and Hockey Teams and some online donations.
In 2021, we were able to raise enough money to cover all our applications plus build a little bit of a safety net for the anticipated growth we expect in 2022.
KidSport Fort Saskatchewan is so grateful for the continued support from Twice But Nice as well as all the community businesses and organizations that step up to the plate “So All Kids to Play”.
Again – Thank you for supporting our organization.

ST. ANDRE BESSETTE CATHOLIC SCHOOL
FORT HIGH FEED OUR KIDS PROGRAM
Our “Feed Our Kids” Program has become an essential part of our school day. We received support from yourselves as well as Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank, Cobs and PC Children’s Charity. With Covid-19 continuing into the 2021-2022 school year, Fort High continued to see some of our families struggle. We were again able provide some additional support to help ease the burden for these families.
The breakfast cart is put out each morning, 5 days a week for all students. Lunches are available for any student who requires them. We also provide snacks 2x per day as well as fruit bowls are in our front office. Our program has been able to expand its morning selection to hot breakfast items like breakfast sandwiches, pop tarts, breakfast burritos, etc.
With the help from the Food Bank and Cobs, various pastries and muffins are served in the morning along with juice, water, milk, granola bars, fruit bars, canned peaches or grapefruit. We continue to see many students accessing our breakfast cart in the morning as well as at break times and going to the cafeteria at lunch.
Your support goes a long way to make this necessary program a continued success. We, at Fort High, would like to thank Twice But Nice for their continued support; it is greatly appreciated.

FORT HIGH FAMILY FEAST
We truly had hoped 2021 would be the year we could return to a normal Family Feast; but it was not meant to be. That doesn’t mean Family Feast did not happen. It did, but just in a different format. The biggest unfortunate part was not being able to have the Fort community volunteers.
Our Leadership classes took the reins on making the week leading up to Family Feast as festive as possible with several daily activities like pyjama day or dress as your favorite Christmas movie character, etc.
Our sit down lunch could not happen but we were still able to have each class have their meal together. They came to the cafeteria where Christmas music was performed by one of our staff and were served their meal. Family Christmas hampers were distributed to families in need through various donations and gifts in kind. All-in-all, the event was a success again.
Your support goes a long way to make this annual event a huge success for both staff and students. We, at Fort High, would like to thank Twice But Nice for the continued support to the Fort High Family Feast because without this type of community assistance, it would not be possible.
Thank you.

PARENT ADVOCATES LINKING SPECIAL SERVICES
Our non profit organization PALSS has been in existence for over 24 years. We provide recreational programming for handicapped individuals in our community.
With the provision of your grant to our organization we were able to facilitate a bowling program. This sport has awesome attendance, we are always at capacity. It is enjoyed by all ages and ability. It is one of those activities that all individuals can participate in regardless of mobility.
One of the crucial elements of enhancing the quality of life for handicapped individuals is to foster good social, physical and emotional skills. This activity is instrumental in delivering that. This is an inclusive sport, individuals are able to participate at their own pace and ability all while enjoying the support and encouragement of peers. It is also an activity that other family members are able to do with their challenged child/youth or adult. Adaptabilities are available for those in wheelchairs.
It has been a difficult two years of pandemic health regulations, especially for this particular population. They may not fully understand or be able to comply with restrictions due to physical, medical or mental development challenges. This has created segregation for a vulnerable population who already suffer isolation and stigma due to disabilities.
Your contribution of funds to enable us to restart our programming post pandemic has been an enormous relief. It has created joy in our small community and we cannot express our gratitude enough to be able to allow these individuals the great experience in being able to again participate in their community.
Fort Saskatchewan is an incredible, understanding, non judgemental inclusive community and we are proud to be a part of it, and are so grateful to your organization for our support.
Thank you
