Just finished donating to TBN!
I was influenced and encouraged by my father (a pharmacist and small business owner) and my maternal grandfather (a politician and small business owner) that I could do whatever I put my mind to! Raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario I attended the University of Waterloo. With a background in geography, municipal planning and political science from university, I got my first job out of university in Red Lake, Ontario. One of the best things from that first job, it’s where I met my husband, Paul. In 1979, just before our first anniversary, we moved to Fort Saskatchewan when Dow offered Paul a job. We never looked back, raised our two daughters here and are proud to call Fort Saskatchewan home.
My 27-year career with the City of Fort Saskatchewan in Economic Development fueled my passion to promote and market this great community; network, connect and support local small businesses; and attract new business and industry. I am proud to be an official Ambassador of Fort Saskatchewan.
Over the years I have been involved with the Chamber of Commerce, Women in Business Association, Heartland Community Hospice Foundation and as a Rotarian many Rotary committees. Joining the TBN Board is part of continuing my engagement in the community and giving back using the knowledge and skills learned over the years. I have donated goods to TBN since they opened and love that we have such a wonderful outlet to donate to in our community. Being on the Board allows me to be part of donating surplus funds from the store operations to many worthwhile organizations and causes. What can I say, giving is just in my nature!
