About Us

We were established as a non-profit organization in 1985. For over 35 years we have been located in the heart of the City of Fort Saskatchewan – Downtown! We have a staff of four and about a dozen store volunteers who contribute to our success.
The Society annually contributes about $20,000 to local non profit organizations. To date we have given back over $950,000! Providing funding by the way of grants isn't the only way Twice But Nice helps those in need. We also work along with the Families First Society, and whenever a family is need of clothes, they will send them to Twice But Nice and the family or individual in need can take what they need at no charge.
We provide one-stop thrifting where families, crafters, and DIY’ers can find good quality, gently used items at a reasonable price while protecting the environment. One of our goals is to keep items that are reusable out of landfills by reselling and down-lining.
We are part of a circular business, so enviably there are more donations coming in the back door than we can sell out the front, so we have “down-lining partners”. Some of our items that don’t or won’t sell in the store have gone to the Bissell Centre, the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Africa. Every week they pick up reusable totes filled with clothing items not suitable for selling in the store. Our down-lining keeps well over 2 tons of textiles out of the landfill per month.
