Alicia Clarke - Director
with one of her latest thrifted gem
I grew up in Sturgeon County on an acreage then moved to Edmonton, but now I have finally found a perfect place to call home in Fort Saskatchewan after settling here last year. I have been a Social Worker for almost 10 years now, so being involved in my community has always been important to me. After completing my Masters in Counselling Psychology and opening up a private practice in St. Albert, I was hoping to find another place to show my passion for supporting families and communities to be well. TBN is the place that called my name as a staple in this city and I am honoured to be a part of the team!
Buying new things has never been a priority for me, as I love receiving hand-me-downs from friends or hitting a thrift store to find some new treasure! Some of my favorite things to thrift are actually pots for all my indoor plants, which have completely taken over my house. Another item I like to hunt for are unique purses and bags, similar to the one pictured here, which I found on my very first visit to TBN! I love plants and I'm hoping to get into gardening more in the next few years as I settle into my new home, but a personal goal of mine is to learn how to sew and mend some clothes of my own.
Creating a safe, nurturing, and sustainable community is important to me and I feel strongly aligned with the values of this organization. I am grateful to the other members of this Board, in addition to all the staff and volunteers, who are dedicated to supporting this city in so many fun and unique ways.
